Bangkok Post: Building Thailand's Future Green Heroes

We are extremely thrilled to share with you our article published in #BangkokPost on our mission to “Build Thailand’s Future Heroes”!

In celebration of the World Green Building Week, we had the priviledge to be published in one of the most prestigious printed press in the Kingdom namely Bangkok Post.

In our article "Building Thailand's Future Green Heroes", we examined the current stuation of green buidlings in Thailand and the global goals set for the building industry in response to global warming.

The World Green Building Council has set a very ambitious and promising goal for the building industry and is aiming for100% of the world's buildings to be net zero by 2050. The project "Advancing Net Zero", with the support of Architecture 2030 and Green Building Councils worldwide, plans to develop tools, provide technical expertise and training programs to reach this challenging net zero target.

Dubbed our Hero is Zero, this year's campaign aims to raise awareness on the very fact that buildings are the solution to fight against climate change. Simply put, Net Zero buildings require that the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis to be roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on site.

According to the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), there are currently "500 net zero commercial buildings and 2,000 net zero homes around the globe (well under 1 per cent of all buildings worldwide)". The need to increase these type of buildings is timely and crucial. Today, buildngs account for 40% of global energy use and with increasing populations, we're bond to see more buildings arise and consume.

By designing them to be self sufficient, we are not only reducing the resources and financial needs to operate them, we are also drastically reducing the burden on our planet.
