Green Building Consulting & Engineering participated in the Suvarnabhumi Terminal 2 design competition as part of the Varda Associates / Wise Project Consulting (WPC) / Junglim Architecture Consortium. The project, including the airport terminal and plaza buildings, will accomodate 30 million passengers per year by 2021.

For this, , we provided our environmentally sustainable design expertise to support the design team in developing a sustainable design concept in line with LEED requirements.

Terminal Area: 348,000 m²

Capacity: 30 million passengers

Facilities: airport terminal and multiplex building including offices and retail plaza

As part of the Suvarnabhumi Terminal 2 design competition, we supported the design team in developing a sustainable design concept in line with LEED Gold requirements.

  • Introduction to team to sustainability foundations and concepts

  • Assessment of site potential for natural ventilation, rainwater collection, solar energy generation

  • Green charette for strategies exploration and development

  • Interactive design optimization for high performance sustainable buildings: orientation, massing, space layout, envelope and facade.

  • Selection of LEED compliant sustainable strategies
