How to ensure
Green Building Requirements are
Integrated

from early design phases?

Are you a Project Manager, Architect or Engineer who is in charge of a project which has sustainabiliy objectives and/or targeting green certification but you’re unsure where to start? Have you been told that achieving green building standards and certification costs a lot more and is an extremely complicated, long, painful process? Or have you already incorporated green features in your project concept but you're unsure if they are compliant with green standards and labels

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then this is The Green Design Brief you have been looking for. Here’s why.

With our 10 years expertise in Green Building Engineering, we have helped all our clients meet high performance, heathy, energy efficient standardized green buildings at little to no additional cost and with zero delay to project deadline and we’ve collected all this knowledge and compiled it in our step to step guide.

We’re reaching a point where sustainability is becoming the new normal

What most clients typically do when wanting to go green inexpensively without  a process is to take short-cuts, which actually ends up costing them more money, frustration and brand reputation.

The primary reasons projects are failing to meet green building standards include:

  • What clients fail to understand is that achieving green building standards comes from optimizing the architectural design from the start. When implementing sustainability too late in the process, project teams are forced to redesign plans completely, which incurs huge costs, additional resources and a significant delay in project deadlines.

  • It is hard for a project manager to understand all certification credit requirements and their impact on each design discipline, architects, MEP engineers, lighting specialists, facade specialists, sanitary engineers, civil engineers, energy experts and contractors without which it is impossible to achieve strict certification compliance

  • Stand alone green features such as landscaping and air purifiers do not make a project green, neither in the eyes of certification authorities nor in the eyes of your customer base. Greenwashing is highly perceivable and strongly rejected.

  • And when it comes time to choose green features, materials and technology, there are so many labels, certifications, technical specifications and products that you cannot decide which one will serve your project best and perform accordingly

And if you decide to just skip the green part, you’re at risk of putting a development out there that will be non-compliant with environmental regulations a few years down the road, have increasing energy and maintenance bills, represent a lower standard and value to both customers and investors and suffer from a poorer image.

We have created a brief for developing

high performance green buildings at low cost

As sustainability consultants and green building engineers, we’ve seen many of our clients struggle meeting green building standards and we feel we have an obligation to support you, project managers, architects and designers to produce sustainable, resilient and healthy building environments that people want to live in seamlessly.

We developed a holistic process which relies on bioclimatic architecture and where green principles are integrated early in the design stage resulting in high building performance at low cost.

We then took this high result-driven process and documented it in The Green Design Brief so our clients could easily implement it internally on their projects to achieve green building standards

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

DSM logo

" This was invaluable for DSM, Armelle took charge of the work and presented it bit by bit making sure we were fully aware of the process and journey.  On project work Armelle has assisted with various pitches, creating excellent, clear and easy to understand presentations for our prospective clients. "

It takes only One Step to Sustainability

This is it. The Green Design Brief is the process, the metrics and the green features that  we use to support  our clients in achieving green standards for their projects.  It is the exact brief you need to get your green, people centric projects off the ground smoothly and cost effectively.

This is what you can expect to achieve from our Green Design Brief:

  • Ensure your project programmation and concepts are designed with sustainability requirements from the start.

  • Save your clients time and money by avoiding unecessary costly design changes later in the process.

  • Reduce your client's up-front costs by applying bioclimatic architecture principles.

  • Achieve green building certification through calculated, planned and result-driven processes.

  • Cut operational and maintenance costs significantly by reducing your client's energy, water consumption while minimizing the overall carbon footprint of their projects.

  • Ensure selected materials and technology are on point with your client's goals and sustainability requirements.

  • Just do the right thing.

Writing on Sticky Notes

What the green design brief includes

  • a market assessment for sustainable buildings and key drivers for their adoption

  • a presentation of the Integrated Design Process and key design metrics that support holistic, bioclimatic and people centric projects

  • a certification comparison matrix illustrating how LEED, WELL, TREES and EDGE differ,

  • a checklist for each sustainability pillar you need to address to ensure your project is right on track of your sustainability goals

  • a handy business case to apprehend the value propositions and economics of green buildings and learn how they do not have to cost more

  • and a selection of commercially available market ready, cost effective green features to incorporate in your next sustainable project.
